Every Hausdorff complete topological algebra {\em strongly of type
(k)} is a strictly dense projective limit of semi-simple
topological algebras with compact spectra. Moreover, every unital
Hausdorff topological algebra, regular of type (k) and {\em
strongly hereditarily complete}, having also the Gel'\-fand map
continuous, is {\em local}.
