A Stone-Weierstra{\ss} type theorem for semiuniform convergence spaces is
proved. It implies the classical Stone-Weierstra{\ss} theorem as well as
a Stone-Weier\-stra{\ss} type theorem for filter spaces due to Bentley,
Hu\v{s}ek and Lowen-Cole\-bunders [1].
