We introduce two notations of functions, which we call 
``subaveraging function" and ``superaveraging function". 
Both the well-known H\"{o}lder-Rogers inequality and 
the Minkowski inequality can be seen simultaneously through 
these functions. Our study was inspired by the work 
of L.~Maligranda \cite{mal1}.
